This site is intended to be a resource providing speech/language pathologists, educators, and parents effective tools to work with children or clients of varying needs.

I share with you materials I have developed in the last 18 years, and I refer you to materials others have developed which have been extremely helpful and which I use on a daily basis. Most of the materials and resources are free, but the ones for sale are offered at very affordable prices.

I have experience in the public schools, pediatric home health care, private practice, teleservices, and with homeschooling families. My areas of specialization are articulation disorders, language and literacy, accent reduction, the assessment and treatment of culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and stuttering.

For those of you interested in the Bilingual Resources section, I'll give you a little bit of background on myself. I am originally from Brazil but have lived in the U.S. for more than 25 years now. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and studied abroad in Mexico, so I have become trilingual - speaking, reading, and writing fluently in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. After obtaining my Master's degree in Communication Disorders - Speech/Language Pathology, I unknowingly went to work for a highly Hispanic school district. As the only bilingual SLP in the district, I completed all speech/language evaluations for Hispanic students in the district and was forced into a position of becoming an "expert" on working with diverse populations. I learned by experience as I went, so some of the resources and eCourses shared on this site stem from this experience.

I hope you enjoy and benefit from The Speech Stop and would appreciate your feedback with any questions, comments, or suggestions.

Happy browsing!!!
